
Problem to Solve: A waste lubricating oil regeneration enterprise in Jiangsu needed to solve the problems of low regeneration rate, substandard quality of regenerated products, and secondary pollution in the traditional waste lubricating oil treatment process. It planned to build a demonstration device with an annual processing capacity of 50,000 tons to realize clean and efficient regeneration of waste lubricating oil.
Solution Implementation: The enterprise adopted a combined process route of “pretreatment – wiped film evaporation – fractionation – refining”, in which the wiped film evaporator played a core role in separating impurities and light and heavy components. The operating parameters of the wiped film evaporator were optimized as follows: vacuum degree of -0.095 MPa, evaporation temperature of 375℃, and wiper blade speed of 200 rpm. The pretreatment process first removed large-particle impurities and water in waste lubricating oil, and then the wiped film evaporator further separated harmful impurities and recycled available components, which laid a foundation for subsequent fractionation and refining.
Solution Effect: The solution achieved a waste lubricating oil regeneration rate of 75%, and the quality of the regenerated base oil fully met national standards. Among them, the yield of SN-150 base oil was 54% and that of SN-200 base oil was 26%. The entire treatment process did not generate secondary pollution such as acid sludge or sulfur dioxide, truly realizing clean production, and providing a feasible demonstration plan for the waste lubricating oil regeneration industry.
